I don't really have favorites but if I ranked music genres, country would certainly fall near the bottom. Actually I can't think of a genre of mucsic I would rank very high at all. Maybe jug band. John Prine's stuff is mostly as bland and insipid as you can dig up. The problem is that he hides these gems in unexpected places and they're good enough to spend a lot of time looking for them. "Let's Talk Dirty in Hawaiian" is from Dr Demento and I also have it on the CD "German Afternoons" which has other gems like "Linda Goes to Mars".
This one offers a sidelong lecherous misinterpretation of the stereotype and some intersting "scat" that I think is pretty cool.
